NEW YORK (VINnews) — Contrary to spurious reports claiming that Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetzky and other prominent US rabbis oppose the Pfizer vaccines for COVID-19, Rabbi Kamenetzky issued a letter in which he states that he is not in favor or opposed to the vaccine and advises people to consult their personal doctor on whether to vaccinate.

Rabbi Kamenetsky, the son of Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetsky, Rosh Yeshiva of Philadelphia yeshiva and a member of the American Council of Torah Sages, stated that “I never ruled regarding the new vaccination for coronavirus patients and every person should consult his doctor and do as required for himself.”
No doubt that the anti-vaxxers will quote Harav Kamenentsky as a source of proof that the vaccine is dangerous.
In the U.S., it will be some time before most people can get it. Unless you are a hospital worker, first responder or in a high-risk group. So by the time most of us can even get it, there will be much more experience with it. So wait before deciding one way or the other.

We now have a vaccine for a virus that has killed almost 300,000 Americans. I know that when my doctor calls me to come in, I will.
